Cade--September 2006

Lessee... Cade update.
He's started asking things, like "where shoes" and "where cat".
We had a whole conversation, in fact:
"Where shoes?"
"Here's your shoes."
"I see shoes." *flops down for me to put his shoes on* ^_^

Been consistantly allowing himself to be coaxed into using a word to ask for something at least once every day since Tuesday. Before he'd rather wander off rather than do it at all, but he seems to be getting the idea.

Husband Dear got him a magnadoodle, which he likes very much.
I think the addition of the slider-bar to erase it
and the drawer of shape magnets
make it cooler than the aquadoodle.
(Currently he's watching Dora the Explorer, which he seems to be really digging right now, while playing with the magnadoodle.)

He was very well behaved yesterday while I was fangirling, mostly.
Only a bit of yelling, mostly when Husband Dear left for the store
without him. :-P
Only went after the Sharp and Pointy Things a little bit,
and hung out and hummed along with One Winged Angel and everything.

Cade says "Hello" and tries to answer the phone whenever it rings.
I have the FF Victory Theme as my ringtone on my cellphone.
When we hit that part of Advent Children yesterday, Cade looks up at the TV and goes "Hello!"
*facepalm*

And then he conked out when we went for supper. (Granted, this was accompanied by a meltdown, but he hadn't napped, so... *sigh*)

EDIT: Also, Cade's currently counting very distinctly up to five on his fingers. :-D
(He can count up to twenty, more or less, but when he does that he may be just reciting a sequence;
he's really poking/waggling every finger in order here. XD)

EDIT EDIT: Oooh, I forgot one of the nifty things he's been doing lately!
He'll play with his $10 Wal-Mart keyboard, and then make one of his electronic toys that plays music go...
and play along with it on the keyboard. I think I've heard him playing along to "where is thumbkin" and "twinkle twinkle little star" so far. Just like his singing, he doesn't hit it all quite right, but it's easily recognizeable! :-D

Having actual conversations with Cade all of a sudden.
Me: Go sit in your seat for lunch!
Cade: Yogurt!
Me: Okay, yogurt!
Cade: *finishes yogurt* Goooooo!
Me: when you're done eating, say, "all done."
Cade: ALLDONE!!!
Me: Okay! *gets Cade out of seat* What now?
Cade: TV!
Me: What do you want to watch?
Cade: *starts singing a song from
Jack's Big Music Show on Noggin*
Me: Puts on an episode
Cade: *dances*

I think that was his longest volley yet.
