AnimeExpo 2002 summary:

We left early on July 4th, around 4-5 AM.  Got to the hotel around noon--pretty good driving time!  But we were all pretty tired.

Luckily, Thursday is the slowest day.  Not too much happened then, and we ended up eating McD's in the evening.

Friday was much busier.  Up fairly early (7ish) to wait in line for tickets to the Anime Music Videos.  Heh.  Anyway, once I got back we ate (I had a U.F.O.!  That's a kind of noodle meal, and I believe they used to package them to look more like UFOs).  Then we got into costume for the day.  I was fairly hot and the pants, which need to be worn uncomfortably high (and shift down anyway) were, well, annoying.  For dinner I had an MRE (after last year's experiences, I brought more meal-like food).

Friday night we waited to get into the theater for the AMVs, and after over an hour of extra waiting, they let us in, only to (after another wait of over a half hour) inform us that technical problems (which, dammit, should have been worked out well in advance) prevented them from showing them until they could re-render everything.  In the end, they preempted several things to show it at 8 AM both Saturday and Sunday.  We went back to the hotel, empty-handed.

Jon got violently ill that night, which was a bummer.  In the morning, I wasn't feeling too swift myself.  I later ended up bowing out of all  the walking around, and heading back to the room.  Some of us went to a fast-food Chinese place, where I got the least greasy food I could get, which helped quite a bit.

Sunday morning we got up early enough to clear the room and check out, and watch the AMVs, then go to the dealer room.  I caved in and got one of the VF-1J's they had.  That was cool.

Anyway, that's about it.
