Welcome to Cool-Man!

Life is like a box of chocolates.  If you're smart you get what you want, unlike those morons who buy the "assorted" collections of random junk.

"It seemed that every time we were beginning to form into teams,
we would be re-organised.

I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation
by re-organising; and a wonderful method it can be for creating the
illusion of progress while producing confusion, inefficiency and
demoralisation..."

Brilliance is the talent of recognizing the very good luck of one's fumbled experiment.

See the house we bought!

Our baby Cade was born on October 19th, 2003.  Also, Look here!  Our family photos are up now!  Me, the wife and kitties!  I'll try to get Cade in there at some point.

To the right:  Jack Skellington IS Jack Skellington in Kingdom Hearts.  This is his idea of a hot date with Sally.

Ooh, ooh!  Check out the random cat picture of the hour!

Todd C. Gleason IS Cool-Man

After many long years, I finally managed to get a variant of "Cool-Man" as my own domain.  www.coolman.com is taken, as are www.cool-man.com and www.coolman.org, but at least this one was still up for grabs.  So what is the origin of "Cool-Man"?  I dunno, it's just something that started when I was in high school.  And I expect that I am the original "Cool-Man" on the web, since I've had a home page since (believe it!) 1994.  Yeah, that was when people were just starting to use the god-awful phrase "Information Superhighway"!  Remember that?  It's better forgotten.  This was when "NCSA Mosaic" was all there was.  When they created a new browser, we weren't sure whether it was called "Netscape" or "Mozilla".

Recent project:  LookCool, a image browser in .NET.  Find it here.

Check out my Fortune Cookie Page.  I used to have a Java applet (which I wrote) to put together fortunes (complete with the "In Bed" on the end), but I haven't had the time to maintain it.  Maybe I'll get around to it at some point and you'll be able to generate fortune cookies with it again.  It could probably be easily rewritten in Javascript, when I get around to it.  I did rewrite it as a little Java CORBA client and server, with an XML version of the fortune cookies file.

Work-related:  My resume is here.  I'm currently working at IMPAC.  We went IPO on 11/20/2002.  We were acquired by Elekta in 2005 (we're still IMPAC though).  You can see a parting picture of the Geyser EMS team here.

Also, check out The Code Warrior for kicks.

What would any of us be without friends?  So to give credit to friends, here are some people I know (many of whom are actually friends).

If you like pictures of cats and don't mind lots of pictures (like in the 10-20 range), then check out my cat, Gremlin.  They just don't get any cuter than that!  Though my younger cat Timmy may be a close second.

I also have some pictures and stuff relating to my wedding.   And I have a link for Leslie's web site too.  She pretty much blows me away, but she spends lots of time on her web site.

Need to contact me?  Here's how.
